Peer-Review Process

After the editors receive a paper, they read it closely and provide individual critiques, within two to four weeks.

In their critiques, they especially: comment on the validity of the social sciences, identifying scientific errors and evaluating the design and methodology used; determine the originality of the work based on how much it advances the field; judge the significance by evaluating the importance of the findings; recommend that the paper be published or rejected.

Then, a paper is sent to a double-blind review. The identities of the author and referees are both hidden. Reviewers provide individual critiques and also identify missing or inaccurate references.
