With all of my sympathies for Ukraine, I need to say no to this question. It will take time and a lot of hard work and perseverance for Ukraine to achieve this goal. In order to join the EU, a candidate state must meet all of the Copenhagen Criteria, which normally takes between 15 to 25 years.
Secondly, it has to do with the principle of fairness; it took a few decades for countries like Spain, Poland, Bulgaria, and Lithuania to join the EU, so why would we treat Ukraine any differently in this respect? It would not be beneficial for the EU, and it would not be beneficial to Ukraine, for in order to enjoy the benefits of its membership, a country's socio-political system and the judicial branch of government should work as a well-oiled machine, the country cannot be inherently corrupted as well.
The Zelenski Administration is catching up very fast, but Russia is definitely not helping here; the pandemic was not helping as well. Surely, Ukraine should be ready for its EU membership by the year 2040. By this time, the entire Balkan region should be integrated with the European Union and Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. #Ukraine#TheEU#PietrzakExpertOpinion#europeanunion
